| Open World Exploration and Abyss
Open World Exploration
During the Natlan versions, the exploration experience with Natlan characters was very good. This was a direct result of exploration optimizations tailored to the version's map.
However, outside of Natlan, other Natlan characters don't show a game-breaking open-world advantage, aside from high-Constellation Mavuika and Chaska, who possess exceptional terrain-traversing capabilities. This is especially true now, in the Nod-Krai Version, where the map's intrinsic exploration features (such as the Kuuhenki) provide more help than the abilities of most characters.
Therefore, if you are a player who skipped 1-2 major versions and are returning to the current map, your exploration will not be made significantly harder due to missing specific characters. Of course, consistent with the Nod-Krai versions, pulling the new Nod-Krai characters will grant a certain benefit to your open-world exploration.
Spiral Abyss
Among these, the Spiral Abyss is the easiest challenge from which to obtain all rewards. Imaginarium Theater places significant demands on the breadth of characters a player owns, and Stygian Onslaught requires a high degree of both team breadth and depth.

Due to the reward adjustment in the Spiral Abyss (from 600 to 800 Primogems) and the low-difficulty co-op mechanism of Stygian Onslaught, if you were able to earn the full Primogem rewards from the Spiral Abyss before you quit, the total Primogem earnings from permanent difficult combat stages after returning will only be higher than before.
Imaginarium Theater
Imaginarium Theater is a mode that requires a high degree of character breadth but has a relatively low combat difficulty. Furthermore, every phase of it has fixed, low-investment strategies available for completion.
As for Imaginarium Theater, it is the type of content where, if you can enter, you can usually complete most of it, but Primogem rewards continue up to the highest difficulty. Therefore, it is completely normal to be unable to earn all rewards in this mode immediately after returning to the game.
Stygian Onslaught
Introduction
Stygian Onslaught is a permanent gameplay mode added in Version 5.7. Its activation location is in the north of Liyue · Mingyun Village.
In this mode, players must form teams and defeat three single-target Bosses. The Bosses' mechanics are typically optimized to suit the current Version's featured characters.
During the challenge, duplicate characters, weapons, and artifacts can't be used across multiple Boss teams.
Upon completing the combat, players receive periodic rewards, including Primogems and weapon skins. By consuming Original Resin at specific times, players can also obtain extra Artifact drops.

Combat Requirements
Stygian Onslaught is a purely combat-focused mode where players must assemble three teams to tackle three Boss-level units. Only when all Bosses within the same difficulty level are defeated in a single attempt is the difficulty considered cleared.
All characters' Energy is emptied at the start of the challenge.
Duplicate characters, weapons, and artifacts can't be used across multiple teams. This means you can't use the same configuration to tackle subsequent Bosses after defeating one.
Each battle has a time limit. The fight results in failure if all the player's characters are defeated or the time runs out.
Difficulty and Rewards
This gameplay mode features six difficulty levels.
Difficulties 4 and below can be completed through Co-Op play.
Difficulties 5 and 6 must be completed solo.
In terms of absolute combat difficulty, Difficulty 4 roughly corresponds to the clearing difficulty of Floor 12 in the Spiral Abyss.
Clearing Difficulty 3 already unlocks all Primogem rewards.
When clearing Difficulty 4 and 5, you will receive one Dust of Enlightenment (an Artifact Strongbox material) respectively.
After clearing Difficulty 6, two types of Weapon Skins can be obtained, depending on the completion time.

Since the low-difficulty levels of Stygian Onslaught allow players to obtain all one-time rewards and farm Artifacts through Co-Op, we will only discuss Difficulties 4 through 6 here.
1. Bosses Have Special Mechanics
Unlike the previous Spiral Abyss, the special mechanics of the Bosses in Stygian Onslaught are enhanced starting from Difficulty 4. Coupled with the Bosses' high HP, it is extremely difficult for players to ignore the mechanics and simply brute-force the kill.
2. Combat Starts with Zero Energy
For many Burst-dependent characters, starting Stygian Onslaught with zero energy significantly amplifies the team's Energy Recharge pressure. Coupled with the restrictions Stygian Onslaught places on the "Pause Time", the pressure resulting from insufficient Energy is further reflected in the overall damage output.
3. High Requirement for Supports
Many players may possess a Main DPS unit that fits the mechanic, but their support roster might be relatively lacking. Three battles mean 12 slots, which necessitates that the player prepares at least nine valuable Support characters in addition to their three Main DPS units.
Unlike the Imaginarium Theater, the Support characters here must effectively fulfill their roles. The required investment level for all characters and the demand for non-duplicate equipment creates a significant hurdle in terms of character development and farming.
4. Minimum Requirement for Absolute Damage Output
To be frank, the difficulty ceiling of this mode is extremely high. Unless a player has outstanding execution skills, clearing Difficulty 6 for most players generally requires a well-built Main DPS that perfectly fits the mechanic.
| Miliastra Wonderland and Witch's Homework
Miliastra Wonderland
This is Genshin Impact's own UGC mode. In this mode, players can design their own stages and share them with others to play, similar to Dota 2's Arcade or the earlier Warcraft Map Editor. To this day, a number of very interesting stages have already been created.

Witch's Homework
Following the launch of Version 6.2, the "Witch's Homework" will be released. Characters who participate in this quest will unlock the "Witch's Blessing", which is essentially a strengthening. As previously mentioned, this involves various degrees of improvement to both their Talents and Constellations.
The characters featured in this installment of the Witch's Homework are: Durin, Venti, Albedo, Klee, Mona, Sucrose, Razor, and Fischl.
